Carlos E. Fernández-Dieppa is an artist/designer/builder currently based in Brooklyn, NY. He received a BFA in Glass from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, and an MFA in Interior Design from Parsons the New School for Design.  After pursuing a degree in glass, Carlos worked at Amuneal Mfg., a custom metal fabrication shop in Philadelphia, PA.  He worked on private residences, high-end retail stores, and public art projects.  Carlos has intermittently taught glassblowing, art classes for developmentally challenged adults, and most recently metal fabrication and 3D modeling classes at 3rd Ward in Brooklyn, NY. In his work, Carlos strives to find the equilibrium between theory and practice.  Design ceases to function within the confines of the built environment, and representation both develops ideas and a final product.  Carlos also has great interest in the facilitation of human interaction via the built environment.  Using design and art as a platform for the study of environment and the human condition, he believes in the betterment of one’s life through carefully considered interior space.
